TPO (Thermoplastic Olefin) roofs and modified bitumen roofs differ in several technical requirements. TPO roofs are single-ply membranes made from a blend of polypropylene and ethylene-propylene rubber, requiring mechanical fastening or adhesive for installation. They offer UV resistance and energy efficiency. Modified bitumen, on the other hand, consists of asphalt modified with polymers, requiring torch-applied or cold adhesive methods for installation. It provides excellent waterproofing and durability but may have lower energy efficiency compared to TPO.
