Non-fibered consumer coatings are typically limited by thinner film build, lower tolerance to standing water, and reduced crack bridging compared with fibered or polymer modified systems. They may require multiple coats to achieve durable thickness, and performance can drop sharply if applied on dusty, damp, or poorly prepared surfaces. Cure depends on water loss, so cool or humid conditions delay traffic return and increase tracking risk. For professional buyers, the limitation is also specification support: retail coatings often lack the tight QC, batch COAs, and performance testing required for large commercial warranties or DOT style acceptance.
