Surfaces should be clean, dry to the extent required by the product, and free of dust, oil, loose aggregate, or curing compounds that block adhesion. Cracks and potholes should be repaired first, and edges should be stable. Temperature and weather control cure: most emulsions need adequate substrate temperature and a dry window to allow water evaporation and break completion. High humidity and shade slow curing, while very hot conditions can cause too fast break and poor leveling. Contractors should confirm the residual application rate, allow full cure before traffic, and avoid rainfall during early cure.
