SS1 stability depends on tight control of pH, water chemistry, emulsifier concentration, bitumen and water temperature, and milling shear. Premature breaking often comes from pH drift, hard water, or contaminated lines and tanks. Keep the soap solution within its target pH band, use filtered or softened water, and maintain consistent feed rates so the mill sees steady composition. Avoid overheating and excessive air entrainment. Use dedicated storage and clean changeover procedures to prevent traces of incompatible products.
