Roofing emulsions are qualified by dry film performance and durability, not only basic emulsion parameters. Typical tests include residue content, adhesion to common substrates, crack bridging or flexibility, water resistance, drying time, and heat aging. Some projects require low temperature flexibility and peel strength tests. Stability, viscosity, and storage separation are also checked. Field trials are important because application thickness and curing conditions strongly influence final waterproofing performance.
