Rubberized emulsions typically provide higher flexibility, better crack bridging, and improved resistance to thermal cycling compared to standard emulsions. The rubber phase can increase elastic recovery and reduce brittleness, which helps in waterproofing membranes and areas with minor substrate movement. They may also show improved impact resistance and better performance under intermittent ponding when properly cured. The tradeoffs are higher viscosity, stricter mixing and pumping requirements, and potentially longer curing times, so application method and thickness control become more critical.
