Price lists rarely include costs of quality failures, returns, and reprocessing, nor the impact of seasonal demand, transport constraints, and storage losses. Other hidden costs include water treatment, acid handling, cleaning and changeover waste, additive variability, and dedicated tank fleet requirements. Equipment wear, especially mills and pumps, can be a significant maintenance cost. If a supplier offers technical support, training, and on site troubleshooting, that service value is often embedded but not itemized. Real cost should consider delivered performance and risk, not only per ton price.
