Roof-grade emulsions prioritize film formation, waterproofing continuity, crack-bridging, UV exposure strategy, and compatibility with reinforcement fabrics and mineral surfacing. They often use different fillers, fibers, polymers, and stabilizers to build thicker films without sagging. Paving emulsions prioritize aggregate coating, controlled breaking, and traffic-ready curing, often with tighter residue specs for bonding and stiffness. Roof grades may allow slower cure and higher film build, while paving grades are engineered to break and gain strength quickly under field mixing and compaction.
