Industrial lines follow a consistent sequence: bitumen heating and conditioning, aqueous phase preparation with emulsifier and pH control, precise metering of both phases into a colloid mill, emulsification under controlled shear and temperature, then low shear transfer into storage tanks. QC sampling and batch release testing are built into the workflow. The most failure prone stages are aqueous chemistry preparation and post mill handling, because wrong pH or contamination causes instability and excessive pumping shear can break the emulsion. Changeovers between grades require flushing, cleaning, and recalibration of dosing systems.
