Rubberised grades like K1-60 are typically used where crack resistance, flexibility, and waterproofing durability matter, such as membrane systems, stress absorbing interlayers, and certain maintenance seals. Production requires more controlled chemistry and higher shear capability. You need heated bitumen feed, accurate rubber or latex dosing, an aqueous phase skid with pH control, and a colloid mill sized to achieve the target droplet size without damaging the modifier. Storage must be temperature managed with gentle agitation, and QC should include residue elasticity, recovery metrics, and stability under storage.
