Quantity is calculated from target residual binder application rate, area, and emulsion residue content. You convert the specified residual rate to wet emulsion rate by dividing by the residue fraction, then multiply by total square meters and add waste allowance for start stop, overlap, and calibration losses. For sealcoats, you also account for surface porosity and number of coats, often using a trial section to confirm real uptake. Accurate sprayer calibration and density checks reduce the risk of under ordering or excess returns.
