High temperatures accelerate water evaporation and can cause too rapid breaking, reducing workability and risking poor film formation. Strong sun and wind increase variability across the day, while dust and dry substrates can pull water quickly and affect bond. In cooler or high humidity regions, curing slows, increasing pickup risk. Therefore emulsions may need tailored breaking profiles, viscosity, and residue properties for rutting resistance at high temperatures. Storage also matters: heat exposure can shorten shelf life. Good practice is to specify performance at realistic ambient ranges and require field trials during the hottest and most challenging periods.
