Modified emulsions often require polymer or rubber handling systems, including heated additive tanks, dosing pumps, and high torque mixers. The colloid mill may need higher power capacity and different rotor-stator sets to handle increased viscosity. Temperature control becomes more important to keep the modified binder processable while protecting emulsifier performance. Filtration and robust transfer pumps are usually upgraded. Storage may require dedicated tanks and controlled agitation. QC may expand to include additional performance tests related to elasticity, adhesion, or temperature susceptibility.
