Switching from cutback to emulsion changes the plant from solvent handling to water based processing. Equipment shifts toward colloid mills, water phase dosing, and corrosion resistant components for acid systems. Regulatory compliance usually improves because emulsions reduce VOC emissions and fire risk, but the plant must manage acid storage, wastewater, and tank cleaning residues. Heating demand often decreases compared to cutback, but instrumentation becomes more critical because pH, temperature balance, and particle size directly determine product stability.
