Flat roof modified bitumen is applied through a multi-step process. Initially, the surface is prepared by cleaning and priming. The modified bitumen membrane, often containing polymers for enhanced flexibility and durability, is then rolled out onto the substrate. It can be adhered using heat (torch-down method) or cold adhesive. Overlapping seams are sealed to ensure waterproofing. Finally, a protective layer, such as gravel or a reflective coating, may be added to enhance durability and UV resistance.
