CRS 2 is a cationic rapid setting emulsion designed to break quickly on aggregate, making it well suited for chip seals, surface treatments, and some tack coat uses where fast set and early traffic return are important. Compared with slower grades, CRS 2 generally offers shorter breaking time, strong early adhesion to many aggregates, and better tolerance of slight moisture. The trade off is reduced working time for mixing applications and higher sensitivity to contamination that can cause premature breaking in tanks, filters, or spray bars if handling is poor.
