Waterproofing emulsions must form a continuous, defect free film with strong adhesion to typical substrates and resistance to ponding or intermittent water exposure. Key properties include suitable viscosity for application method, good wetting, low pinholing, and predictable curing time. After curing, the residue should have flexibility, crack bridging, and durability under thermal cycling and UV exposure if exposed. Water resistance and adhesion after wet dry cycles are critical. Buyers should request data on dry film thickness per coat, recommended reinforcement, service temperature range, and compatibility with primers and topcoats.
