In protective and waterproofing systems it is commonly applied as a cold applied coating layer on concrete, masonry, metal primed surfaces, or beneath screeds and backfill protection. Typical system design includes surface cleaning and priming where needed, one or more coats to reach target dry film thickness, and protection layers such as boards or geotextiles before backfill. Detailing at joints and penetrations uses reinforcement fabric or sealants. Performance depends on correct curing conditions and thickness control, so wet film measurement and staged coats are important.
